Congratulations to all the players and supports who travelled to Atlanta to participate in the 2013 Peach Cup. Everyone played with heart, pride and determination. The weather was hot and the sun unforgiving at times. Mother nature teased us with a 40 second shower of rain half way throughout the day which received wonderful comments such as “Jasus! Wasn’t that show of rain lovely”!!!
There were no easy games. We had to work hard for every score and couple the hot humidity of the Atlanta sun and that made for some tough football. However, we came out of the gates running and played absolutely superb. Players gave their all and when they couldn’t give anymore there was another eager Raleigh Cú Chulainn player on the sideline ready to jump in. The team gelled brilliantly and it was the positive and encouraging attitude of the players for each other which pushed players to top of their abilities.
I (Tim) personal am proud to wear the white & green jersey of the Raleigh Cú Chulainn Gaelic Football team and I know this will be the first of many trophies that the team will win.
A big congrats to Steve Shannon – El Capitán – for creating and wonderful GAA club and creating a great atmosphere of fun, encouragement & team work.
