Raleigh GAA welcomes Colm Egan, full-time coaching development officer from the North American GAA, for a foundation coaching course on Feb 27th (9.30am to 5pm), Feb 28th (11am – 2pm).
Saturday: Knights of Columbus located at 4301 Columbus Club Dr, Raleigh, NC 27604. Time: 9.30-5pm
Sunday: Martin Middle school located at 1701 Ridge Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607. Time: 11am – 2pm
The course is open to any Coaches, Parents, Administrators or Players of any club wishing to participate.
This is an all-day course and to complete certification all attendees must complete the 8hrs, it will roughly be broken into 2 sessions (each session split into class based teaching and then practical field work).
Apart from the core curriculum, we are canvassing your opinions for ideas on things that you would like to see included within the course. Please respond with any thoughts asap and we will try to accommodate as many as we can.
The foundation course is mandatory for any coach that coaches at the CYC and must be encouraged for any Youth coaches (CYC or not). It’s also a vital step for current coaches to improve their coaching skills and who may not have completed the course previously. It’s very suitable for newcomers to Gaelic Games as much of the course content will heighten your understanding of both Hurling and Gaelic Football.
