Raleigh vs NC State (4/25)
Raleigh’s first competitive football game of the season will take place this coming Monday against NC state. Try to arrive at 6:10 for warm ups and be ready for a 6:30 prompt start to the match at Raleigh Rugby Club on 7417 Poole Road. Spectators are obviously welcome as well! After the game, we will ask everyone to go to our sponsor the Hibernian for post match celebrations.

Charleston hurling (4/30)
Raleigh’s first hurling tournament is still a go as responses have been good so far. Charleston has got a deal at the Hampton Inn near the Charleston Airport for those interested. Mention the Charleston Hurling Club for the rate and rooms. If you are interested in going or have any questions, contact our hurling manager John McNeilly at mcneilly_john@hotmail.com as he is coordinating the trip.

Registration (4/30)
Next week is the last week for registration to the North American board for all previously registered Raleigh players and club-to-club transfers. Please contact Sarah at registrar@raleighgaa.com ASAP if you have not already given her the necessary details.

Easter 1916 Centenary Ceremony (4/24)
A special commemorative ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the Easter 1916 Rising will be held on Sunday, April 24th at the Hibernian Pub located at 8021 Falls of Neuse Road in North Raleigh. The program will start at 3 pm and will include the reading of the proclamation by GAA Treasurer, Eddie Foley followed by a moment of silence for those who lost
their lives during the Rising. A piper will play a piper’s lament which will be followed by the singing of Amhrn na bhFiann. The celebration will continue with Irish dance and music from local bands including a performance by the NC Rose of Tralee. Please support The Hibernian, a great GAA sponsor and join the Irish community in the area for this special celebration.

AOH Golf Outing (4/25)
Our friends at the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) will be hosting their second annual golf outing on Monday, April 25th at Devil’s Ridge Golf Club located at 5107 Linksland Drive, Holly Springs, NC 27540. Registration begins at 9 am with tee off at 10 am. The entry fee is $100 per person which includes golf cart, green fees and a catered lunch following the tournament. There will be prizes and additional competitions for putting, long drive and closest to the pin. The AOH have been great supporters of Raleigh GAA so please do consider taking part.
