The Thomas Burke Cup Hurling & Camogie Competition is tomorrow at the Raleigh
Rugby Complex (7417 Poole Road, Raleigh). Gates open at 11am, come and
witness the fastest field sport in the world and at over 3000 years old
more than likely one of the oldest.
The first game starts at 11.30am with Raleigh A taking on Hampton Roads B,
the full match schedule is:
11.30am (Lower Pitch): Raleigh A v Hampton Roads B
12.30pm (Lower Pitch): Richmond v Hampton Roads A
1.30pm (Lower Pitch): Raleigh B v Hampton Roads B
2.30pm (Upper Pitch): Hampton Roads A v Hampton Roads B
2.30pm (Lower Pitch): Raleigh A v Richmond
3.30pm (Lower Pitch): CAMOGIE FINAL
3.30pm (Upper Pitch): Richmond v Raleigh B
4.30pm (Lower Pitch): Raleigh A v Hampton Roads A
Grilled food will be available as will the refreshing lemonade stall which
is making a comeback again this year. There is plenty of space to put up
tents pitch side, bring coolers, ice and your favorite beverages to sip
whilst watching the games.
The after show party (and presentation of the cup) will be held at the
Hibernian Pub (Glenwood Avenue) starting shortly after the conclusion of
the last game of hurling. Appetizers will be served to anyone associated
with the Hurling competition.
Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
