Raleigh GAA had an incredible year in 2022, which also marked our 10 year anniversary in Raleigh. Our Hurlers won the Holy City Cup in Charleston in April and went on to win the SE Division title in July. In June, our Camogie team travelled to Charlotte and won our FIRST ever Camogie trophy, the Connolly Cup. We had two teams qualify for the Nationals in Chicago and our Hurlers made it all the way to the Final. All codes had a great year of competition and camaraderie.
To toast these and other achievements, the Raleigh GAA 2022 Awards Gala was held on Dec 9 and was a resounding success. Hosted by the Knights of Columbus, Raleigh and catered by the TraLi bar, we welcomed long time & new members, our friends & their families, to celebrate.
For the second year running we were able to honor 5 members of the Club.
- Club Member of the Year 2022 – Joseph McElwee
Player Awards for the 2022 season:
- Men’s Hurler of the Year 2022 – Taylor Berliant
- Ladies’ Footballer of the Year 2022 – Bethany Ebbitt
- Mens Footballer of the Year 2022 – Leon Odell
- Ladies Camogie Player of the Year 2022 – Amy Hogan
We are excited for what 2023 will bring!
