Raleigh GAA Gaelic Football team have joined the Hurling team in qualifying to go THROUGH to USGAA Finals in Denver, CO!
Saturday 07/08 Raleigh GAA’s Gaelic Football team played Charlotte James Connolly GAA in the Southeast Division Championship. The game commenced at 9:15am, 13 players a side per Jr C rules.
The game took part as the Raleigh GAA home tournament day, which meant that we had lots of supporters on the sideline and a great atmosphere. The first half was led by the Raleigh GAA defense, keeping Charlotte contained. The defense also stepped up in transition, with multiple points from Aodhan Noonan and a brilliant goal by Sean Salmon to keep Raleigh within striking distance going into halftime.
Raleigh came out strong in the second half and caught Charlotte on their heels. We made use of a brilliant substitution with Enda Wiseman coming on the field, who contributed two points and the spark to go on and win the game.
The game ended 1-9 to 1-6 and Raleigh go forward to the USGAA Nationals in Denver CO, 18-20 August.
Our sincere gratitude to Charlotte James Connolly for a really great game and also the graciousness shown to our players afterwards. They are headed to Derry for the World Games and we wish them the very best of luck.
We would LOVE some support from Sponsors and Volunteers as we prepare to travel to USGAA Finals. If you or your Company are interested, please do reach out to PRO@RaleighGAA.com
