We’ve got an exciting few weeks coming up for the sport of Hurling in Raleigh and we’re thrilled to share it with you!!
We’re getting started TOMORROW 1/12/19: join us at Martin Middle School at 10am for a full 60 minute hurling game. Our goal is to have fun and help our UNC friends stay sharp so they can win the national title next weekend.
SPEAKING OF NATIONALS…UNC is hosting the 2019 Collegiate Hurling Championships! Up to 10 teams are expected to travel to Chapel Hill for this huge event on MLK Weekend. Raleigh GAA will be assisting UNC with referees, equipment and a screening of an amazing hurling documentary in the historic Varsity Theatre.
To provide a post game event for the student players, referees and spectators at hurling nationals next week, we’ve secured permission from the producers and rented out the Varsity Theater on Franklin St in Chapel Hill to show a special screening of the epic 3 part documentary of “The Game: The Story of Hurling” at 7pm on Saturday January 20th. The documentary will run from 7pm till about 9:45, with a short intermission around 8:40pm. Don’t miss this event. Tickets are only $5 with a limit of 150 people so I would recommend you purchase for you and your family ASAP at the following

Special thanks to clubperson of the year Richie Finnegan who has done trojan work in coming up the idea and then getting all the pieces in place to make it happen for us. Check out the photo of the theater front!
